Primer

Last night I watched the movie Primer. Wow. I hadn't heard about it until recently, when the DVD was released. It's an "intellectual thriller," an independently-produced sci-fi film that explores short-range time travel. It's really fascinating and convoluted. I must watch it again with the timelines handy. There are so many parts I don't understand.

It reminded me of π, another low-budget intellectual-thriller-type indie film that I like. Yea for sci-fi thrillers without famous actors and a slathering of digital special effects! Oh, did I mention how much I don't want to go see War of the Worlds?

I wasn't particularly fond of Primer. Fascinating, sure, but in the end it was TOO convoluted. I'm with you on π, though.

To be noted, however, Final Cut is awful. Then again, it does have a few famous actors (Robin Williams, Mira Sorvino) though they do provide the best acting in the movie. Still really bad, though.
