virtual reality, ho!

Sims in Sims 2 can play The Sims. Quips Suzi: “[I'm] imagining based on how addictive that game is, several layers of ‘people’ all playing sims and all watching each other play sims … like that's all you'd do … you'd be sitting there going look my sims sims sims sims are playing sims now too! then you'd go ’hmmm I should make my sim eat before it dies’ … then you'd think hey wait: I need to eat... ”

Virtual hockey substitutes for live hockey. Watching other people play video games bores me. But then, watching a lot of live sports bores me, too, so I wouldn't make a good test audience.

Classroom in the metaverse. For subjects that involve physical forms—one professor uses it to explore ideas about public space—I can see how MMOGs could be a useful tool, but I'm skeptical as to whether some instructors are teaching with the MMOG as opposed to about the MMOG.

that reminds me
remaining DC Utd home games are Sat Oct 9 (which, depending on the timing, I may have to miss due to asd109 & yuda's wedding), but Britpop night follows and I know there's an interest crowd for that.

other game is Sun Oct 17 at 5PM

I expect to be able to come to both those games. As always, dunno until a few days prior whether Rob can come too.
