Realization: I'm not going to make pan de muertos this year as I had planned. It's not that I've never baked a loaf of bread before in my life—and I haven't. It's not that it wouldn't be yummy—it would. There's simply too much going on, and while I'd like to mark Day of the Dead with some traditional food, it's not high enough on my list of priorities.

My sinuses are not enjoying the recent fluctuations in air temperature and humidity.

Since I chose to work yesterday (Columbus Day), I'll have Veteran's Day off. It's a Thursday this year. Any suggestions as to what I should do with that day off?

I'm sure this won't be at all helpful to you, but I have a number of projects on which you could work:
1) Write a ASP.net-based library-like system to provide a web-based catalog for my anime DVDs so I can keep track of who has what and loan them out more effectively. It must access a SQL server. I can send you an access database with the info/table layout, if you want it. :)
2) Create a reversi computer player that will crush my friend Shawn (he's pretty good). I have the C# reversi program and interfaces and such, if you want those, too. So far I've been focusing on architecture and so the computer players are pretty lame (although it's interesting to fool with)

I have more projects in the queue, if you want. ;)

Or, you could spend the time in other ways. I don't think I know where you live, so I can't give real specific ideas, but here's the kind of thing I'd do:
1) Go for a hike - it's fall, the world's a beautiful place
2) Do something atypical - plays, concerts, sports games, museums
3) Sit around and listen to some good music
4) Cook an elaborate/interesting meal
